Element: Apply workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Access information regarding organisation work health and safety policies and procedures
  • Identify and carry out worker responsibilities prescribed in workplace health and safety legislation, regulations and codes of practice
  • Identify and carry out worker responsibilities prescribed in workplace health and safety policies and procedures, including emergency procedures
       
Element: Assist in workplace hazard identification and risk control
  • Assist with explaining information regarding hazard identification, and risk assessment and control
  • Identify and report workplace health and safety hazards according to workplace procedures
  • Assess risks associated with identified workplace health and safety hazards
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and work instructions for controlling risks
  • Identify and record risks, and action taken to eliminate, mitigate or reduce them
  • Assist with workplace health and safety training where required

Assessment Tasks

Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
